They're real, cultural stereotypes are real, they don't need to mean anything to you on the level of interpersonal interaction. You never go into a new relationship with a person assuming stereotype, you don't even think about whether or not you will find a stereotype. Just, one day, surprise, oh this person is a cultural stereotype. The realization that this person is a cultural stereotype is not the realization that this person has become sub-human, it shouldn't really make any difference to you whatsoever, with most cultural stereotypes it's reasonably charming.
